Kallaway Opens its Doors to Mums and Dads

Kallaway joined Samsung, Starbucks, PepsiCo and hundreds of other organisations across the globe taking part in LinkedIn’s Bring in Your Parents Day (BIYP) on 5 November.

Kallaway is working with LinkedIn on its global initiative and the team was keen to get directly involved in the scheme, which is designed to bridge the knowledge gap between employees and their parents.

With jobs that did not exist even five years ago, it is understandable that parents do not always understand exactly what their children do on a day-to-day basis. LinkedIn’s initiative allows family members to get a first hand insight into what their son or daughter does for a living and to meet the people they work with.

At Kallaway, parents were welcomed with a glass of Champagne reinforcing the typical PR stereotype before confounding it as children engaged parents about the various way in which PR can be used to help brands be more successful by helping people think and act differently.

Parents got involved in exploring how campaigns are put together and shared advice with staff on the best thing they would tell their younger selves; “do what you love” was the consensus – valuable advice from valuable people.
