Barclays Invest and Inspire
Barclays asked Kallaway to bring its values - Leading, Original, Enabling and Visionary - to life. Our ambitious idea was Invest and Inspire, a £3m project over two years that became one of the most impactful arts sponsorships in the UK. We identified four world-class partner institutions that wanted to test the viability of late night and Sunday opening, but did not have the budget to do so. We secured media partnerships for each – Evening Standard & National Theatre, Classic FM & the British Museum, Independent & the National Gallery; and the Daily Mail & Tate Britain – and special events were created. We involved Barclays staff through discounted tickets, exclusive events, a magazine, and a roadshow that brought elements of the programme to branches around the country. Invest and Inspire made the arts more accessible and had a lasting impact: high numbers of visitors proved the viability of extended opening and Thursday Lates are now a regular fixture for museums across the UK.
